Buying guides, answers, definitions and case videos

Motion Platform Resources

Most people arrive here halfway through a task: writing a specification, comparing two quotations, checking a word a supplier used, or trying to decide whether a Chinese manufacturer is worth a call. Each resource below is built for one of those moments, and answers it in the time you actually have.

In short: the buying guide covers how to specify, qualify suppliers and compare quotations; the FAQ answers project questions from cost to support; the glossary defines the terms suppliers use differently; the case videos show delivered platforms with the payload stated under every clip. How the machines work lives in the Technology guides.

Find the Right Resource for the Task in Front of You

Resources are only useful if you can find the one you need in a few seconds. Find your task in the first column; the link takes you to the exact section, not just the page.

The Task-to-Resource Map  In rough order of how often people arrive with each task.

If you are trying to… Go to You leave with
Write an RFQ for a motion platform Buying guide · RFQ ledger The ten lines every supplier needs, and what goes wrong without each
Compare quotations that look nothing alike Buying guide · scope normaliser Twelve scope lines to align before you read any price
Decide whether a supplier builds or assembles Buying guide · builder test Seven questions, and how we answer each one ourselves
Check what a term in a spec sheet means Glossary A definition you can quote, and how the term gets misread
Get a quick answer on lead time, warranty or shipping FAQ A one-line verdict, then the reasoning and the limit
See delivered platforms running Case videos Footage with payload, motion and footage type stated
Size a platform for your load Specification Builder A specification block an engineer can quote against
Understand how the machine actually works Technology guides The principle, the arithmetic and how to check every claim

The four resources

Buying Guide, FAQ, Glossary and Case Videos

Each resource does one job and does it completely, so you never read the same answer in two places.

01 · Buy

How to Choose a Motion Platform

How do you specify, qualify a supplier and compare quotations?

The procurement decisions that decide whether a project succeeds: the order to make them in, how to tell a builder from an assembler, what belongs in the RFQ, and what to agree before you sign.

02 · Ask

Motion Platform FAQ

What do buyers ask before, during and after a project?

Answers across eight project stages — specification and cost, quotation, contract, build, acceptance, shipping, site and support — each opening with a one-line verdict.

03 · Define

Motion Platform Glossary

What does this term actually mean, and how does it get misread?

Plain definitions for mechanism, kinematics, motion cueing, control, specification, testing and commercial terms — each with the caveat that matters when you buy.

04 · See

Case Videos

What do delivered platforms look like in operation?

Platforms we have built, running in research, industrial testing and simulation, with the payload, motion, configuration and footage type stated under every clip.

Paperwork you can check before you order

Documents You Can Ask For Before You Order

Three documents answer the questions a procurement or engineering review usually raises first. Ask for any of them; there is no form to fill in and no commitment attached.

The 3-Document Request List  What each document lets you check — and what it doesn’t.

Document When we send it What it lets you check What it does not prove
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificate copies On request, any time, with numbers and validity dates That documented management systems are certified and current How a specific platform performs
Sample interface document During quotation Whether your host developer can work with our commands, coordinate convention, update rate and fault behaviour The final interface for your project, which is issued before integration starts
Sample factory acceptance protocol During quotation, with proposed FAT items for your load case before you order What acceptance will measure, how and against what The result — that comes from your FAT, which you or a third party can witness

Preparing a supplier qualification file? Ask for the certificate copies and the two samples in one request.  Request the documents →

Where the Engineering Is Explained

Resources cover buying, answers, terms and evidence. How the machines work — and how to check what a supplier claims about them — lives in the Technology guides.

Principle

How a 6DOF Motion Platform Works

Six actuators, one pose, and why they never equal six axes.

Architecture

3DOF vs 6DOF

Decide the axis count from the motion task.

Drive

Electric vs Hydraulic

Where each drive wins, and what ownership costs.

Sizing

Payload, Stroke & Acceleration

Gross moving load, CoG height and the Specification Builder.

Frequently asked

Motion Platform Resources — FAQ

Questions about the resources themselves. Project questions live in the full FAQ.

No. There is no account and no email form in front of any resource. The 32-point checklist runs in your browser, and you can download or print it without sending anything to us.

The one that matches your task. Writing a specification or comparing quotations: the buying guide. A quick factual question: the FAQ. An unfamiliar term: the glossary. Wanting to see delivered platforms: the case videos. The task map at the top of this page links straight to the right section.

Because every platform is engineered to a load case. A generic datasheet would describe a machine you would not receive, and its figures would be read as a commitment. The figures for your configuration come with the quotation, with their conditions stated.

Yes. We send copies of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates, held by our manufacturing entity, with their numbers and validity dates. Remember that management-system certificates cover how we work, not how a given platform performs.

Yes. During quotation we provide a sample interface document and a sample factory acceptance protocol, and we propose the acceptance items for your load case before you order.

Nothing here is gated

Ask for What You Need

If the resources don’t settle your question, send it as it stands. It goes to the engineering team, not a sales inbox, and asking does not put you into a quotation process.
