CSCMotion is the motion platform brand of Nanjing AllController Technology Co., Ltd. Since 2013 we have designed and manufactured all-electric motion platforms in Nanjing — and the servo cylinders, controller boards and control software that make them move.

Who we are

A manufacturer, in the narrow sense of the word

That word gets used loosely, so here is what it means here. The servo cylinders that move our platforms are machined in our own workshop. The motion controllers are our own boards — twenty-five models in the ACB series. The kinematics, the trajectory planning and the washout algorithms were written by people who sit in the same building, which is why they can still be changed when your integration needs them to be.

We were established in Nanjing in 2013, out of work on electrical control and parallel mechanisms. What we do has narrowed since then rather than widened: one class of machine, built to order, for customers who arrive with a load and a trajectory rather than a model number.

Our platforms have gone to state aerospace and shipbuilding institutes, national research academies, universities and defence establishments, and increasingly to OEMs and integrators overseas. Two hundred and fifteen delivered configurations later, almost none of them are repeats.

What we build ourselves

Four layers we own, and the line where we stop

Every machine builder buys something. What decides whether a supplier can actually engineer for you is which layers they own — so here is ours, including the side of the line we are deliberately not on.

Layer 01 · Ours

Servo electric cylinders

Designed and machined here. Stroke, force and mounting are project variables rather than catalogue constraints — and when a replacement is needed it comes off our own line, not somebody else’s production queue.

Layer 02 · Ours

Motion controllers

Twenty-five board models in the ACB series, from valve control cards up to EtherCAT masters running at 100 Mbps with distributed clocks. We are members of the EtherCAT Technology Group and CAN in Automation, and our products have passed CANopen conformance testing.

Layer 03 · Ours

Control software

Ten core algorithm families — kinematics, dynamics, closed-loop control, velocity planning, interpolation, look-ahead, washout, road excitation, safety limiting and frame transforms. If behaviour has to change during your integration, it changes in our code.

Layer 04 · Ours

Structure, cabinets, assembly

Frames fabricated and machined here, control cabinets built to the project’s interface document, and final assembly and integration under one roof. Geometry is a design variable, which is what makes a non-standard envelope possible at all.

Servo motors, drives, screws, bearings and joint hardware come from established component suppliers. We select and size them; we do not claim to make them. The brands are named in your project documentation.

Out of scope, by choice

The simulator above the platform

Cockpits, visual systems, training content and complete simulators stay with the OEM, integrator or laboratory. We supply the platform subsystem underneath. Holding this line is what lets the interface be defined precisely rather than negotiated late.

Why the last two panels are on this page. A capability page that lists only what a company makes invites you to assume everything unlisted is bought and quietly hidden. Naming the bought-in components and the deliberate scope limit is what makes the first four panels worth reading — and it is a fair question to put to any supplier whose list has no boundary in it at all.

How we engineer

We would rather tell you what we measure with

Any supplier can describe itself as experienced. What can actually be examined is which analysis gets run, on what tool, and what is measured afterwards. So that is how we describe our engineering.

Structure Modal behaviour solved twice — finite element in ANSYS, multibody in ADAMS. When two independent methods disagree we treat it as a finding, not as noise.
Workspace The usable six-dimensional envelope is sampled by Monte Carlo rather than inferred from per-axis maxima, so we can tell you whether your combined trajectory actually fits.
Accuracy As-built joint geometry is identified on the assembled machine and compensated in the controller. This is the step that turns a correct calculation into an accurate machine.
Verification Position and attitude measured externally with a laser system under load, not derived from encoder counts. The two can differ by an order of magnitude.
Margin Every mechanical component designed above three times rated load, with finite-element verification on the cylinders at that factor.

Interface and integration testing before shipment. Host communication, bus timing and fault behaviour are proved here, where a problem costs a day rather than a trip.

Inside the workshop

The parts of the process we do not outsource

Photographs of our own work rather than of finished machines on a stand. A completed platform tells you nothing about the load it was built for; a cylinder being machined tells you who made the cylinder.

Cylinder machining

The actuators are made in the same building as the platform. It is why a 41-day programme was possible on our largest project, and why a spare is a stock item rather than an import.

Frame fabrication

Above about ten tonnes the frame becomes the machine. Modal behaviour is settled by two independent solvers before anything is cut.

Cabinet and controller test

Boards, cabinet and software are ours, so a control question after delivery is answered by the people who wrote the loop.

Loaded acceptance

Acceptance runs against a written protocol with a stated test load fitted. Every performance figure we record carries the load it was measured at.

Factory acceptance

You are welcome to watch, in person or remotely — you choose what to look at and can ask for a trajectory to be run again.

Interfaces

EtherCAT at 100 Mbps with distributed clocks, alongside the other buses a host may expect. Interface definitions are issued as a controlled document.

What we are good at, and what we will turn down

We would rather lose an enquiry at the start than an acceptance test at the end. If your project sits on the right, another kind of supplier will serve you better and we will say so on the first call.

Where you should buy elsewhere

  • Nanometre-class positioning. A precision positioning specialist is the right supplier, and we will name the category rather than take the job.
  • Requirements that genuinely need hydraulic drive. We build all-electric platforms and will not pretend that suits every payload.
  • Complete simulator delivery including cockpit, visuals and training content.
  • A contractual on-site response measured in hours. A local supplier can commit to that; from Nanjing we cannot.
  • Off the shelf, in stock, this week. Everything here is engineered to order.
